Thank you for your interest in our foster care program. We are always looking for loving, caring people to foster our dogs and to assess them while they are waiting for their new forever homes. A foster home provides temporary housing, love and care for the dogs that come into our rescue. The time period can be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, perhaps even a few months, depending on the dog.
You may be asked to take the dog to their scheduled veterinary appointments and to follow up with any treatment or recommendations. NSGRR assumes the financial responsibility for these visits. A foster family will be asked to assess the dogs temperament and watch for any behavioural problems and personality traits. The foster may also be asked to care for a special needs dog that requires ongoing medical treatment.
